Jamie B. (Mila.b)
With a professional creative training in quite another field, Jamie took up painting in her early teens. She is -obviously- inspired by the works of Chagall, Picasso and Escher, but adds a certain warmth in her colours and a biomorphic touch in the shapes which make her style her very own.
The creative process on which her paintings are based also somewhat reminds one of the Surrealist's "Automatism" from the days of the above mentioned painters: In most cases she just starts off drawing, with nothing special on her mind, until the shapes start to communicate with her. From that point on the abstract concept sublimates into a more specific, more concious contact with the canvas.
The result can be seen in this series of vivid, wonderful spiritual, sometimes even humorous paintings, reflecting her love for nature, animals and life itself.
